LIMITED EDITION PRINT OF 250
Shot in July, 2003. Even though it is thought there are no Grayling in the Gallatin, it has been a stocked fishery for the low population Arctic Grayling for several years (see FWP website for stocking info)..... I set out to capture a fly fishing shot with all the elements of the moment above and under water. The biggest challenge was to shoot the fish in their natural habitat. But with a challenge, also comes a reward. After three days of snorkeling in the upper and lower Gallatin, shooting hundreds of shots with whitefish and rainbows, and setting up the fly casting shot with my buddy and dog, I not only finally got a pair of 8+ inch Grayling, but in turn I found a new sport that I think I love more than fishing itself! Free floating down a river with snorkel gear! If you have not tried it, I recommend it to every fisherman or anyone who likes viewing nature and a foreign landscape in which we can not live. .................
